Halle Maria Berry, who was born August 14, 1966 in Cleveland, Ohio, is an award-winning actress and former fashion model and beauty queen.  She has starred in such successful movies as “Boomerang,” “Bulworth,” the three installments of “X-Men,” “Swordfish,” “Monster's Ball,” the Bond vehicle “Die Another Day,” “Gothika,” and “Catwoman.” She has the ability to take on incredibly diverse roles as proven by her Academy Award for her role as a lonely widow in “Monster’s Ball.”  Halle first came into the spotlight at the age of 17 when she won the Miss Teen All-American Pageant, representing the state of Ohio in 1985 and a year later in 1986 when she was the first runner-up in the Miss USA Pageant.  Afterwards, Halle became a model and then an actress.

Her initial start in acting was in the weekly TV series “Living Dolls,” but her breakthrough role was as a crack addict in Spike Lee's “Jungle Fever” (1991) where she reportedly “lived” her role by remaining in character even when the cameras stopped rolling by refusing to bathe for several days.  In 1998, she received critical success when she starred as a street-smart young woman who takes up with a struggling politician in Warren Beatty's “Bulworth.” More recently Halle has been known as a Bond girl and her role as Storm in the successful movie series “X-Men.”
