Maksim Chmerkovskiy

Biography

Taking dance lessons at the age of four in his home country Ukraine, Maksim Chmerkovskiy was born to be a star! But a terrible skiing accident when he was a teenager left him in the hospital for months enduring many surgeries. After being told he would walk with a limp, Maksim strived to go above and beyond and has definitely proved the doctors wrong.

After competing on Dancing With The Stars for many seasons, he is still waiting to win. He finished in 2nd place with Spice Girl Mel. B. on season 5. On season 7 he was partnered with Olympic gold medalist Misty May-Treanor, but were forced to drop out of the competition due to an injury she obtained.
