Fergie, Rihanna & Whitney Houston Storm AMA Stage with Triumphant Performances

The "2009 American Music Awards" boasted many amazing performances by the biggest musicians of the year, including headline-grabbing ladies Fergie, Rihanna and Whitney Houston. ET has all the AMA details after the jump... Tonight was a good night for Fergie's group the Black Eyed Peas, as they won the first award of the evening for best Pop Rock Group. The awards show featured performances by Janet Jackson, Daughtry, Kelly Clarkson, Shakira, Timbaland, Nelly Furtado, Adam Lambert and Keith Urban. Kate Hudson and her boyfriend Alex Rodriguez took the AMA stage separately. The New York Yankees player introduced Jay-Z and Alicia Keys' performance of their hit song "Empire State of Mind." Jay-Z won his second AMA of his career for Rap/Hip-Hop Male later in the evening and thanked the great city of NYC. "Men lie, women lie, numbers don't," he said when accepting the award. Meanwhile, Hudson joined Nicole Kidman to announce the Black Eyed Peas' performance. Kidman's husband Urban won for fave Country Male later in the evening. "I love you so much baby girl," he said to his wife when accepting his award. Rascal Flats won for favorite Country Group, while country singer Taylor Swift accepted her AMA's in London for fave Pop Rock Female Artist, fave Country Female and Artist of the Year. New group Gloriana won their first AMA for Breakthrough Artist and thanked their tour-mate Swift. For rock n' roll awards, Green Day won for Alternative Rock Band before performing later in the night. Rihanna was a show-stopper, singing her new single "Hard." This was her first solo performance since her domestic dispute with Chris Brown in February. As for fave Soul R&B artist awards, Jermaine Jackson accepted an AMA for his late brother Michael and Beyonce won for fave Soul R&B Female artist. Michael also won for Pop Rock Male. Jennifer Lopez, Lady Gaga, Carrie Underwood and Mary J. Blige were amongst the other female singers to take to the AMA stage later in the evening. Whitney Houston was honored with an International Artist of the Year AMA before giving her first live performance in five years.

Jon Gosselin Brings Kate a Peace Offering

Jon Gosselin arrived at his and Kate's divorce arbitration meeting in Pennsylvania on Saturday bearing an apparent peace offering for his estranged wife. ET special correspondent Diane Dimond says that Jon, who's back from his solo vacation in Hawaii, arrived to the meeting site at 9:45 a.m. with a bouquet of red roses in hand. "The flowers are to end this war of roses," his lawyer Mark Heller said. Jon told Diane he hopes he and Kate can iron out their financial issues, and added that he'll be spending Thanksgiving with his parents.

Attorney: Dr. Conrad Murray to Return to Work

"The Insider" confirms that the former personal physician to Michael Jackson is reportedly returning to work. Dr. Conrad Murray's attorney, Edward Chernoff, told "The Insider" that his client will be returning to his work at the Armstrong Medical Clinic in Houston, Texas. Chernoff said in a statement: "Because of a deteriorating financial condition and prompting by many of his beloved patients, on November 20th, 2009 Dr. Conrad Murray resumed his cardiology practice in Houston Texas. Doctor Murray plans to attend to patients in both Las Vegas and Houston. His decision to first return to practice in Houston was made because of the greater need these low-income patients have for his services and the prohibitive cost of reopening his clinic in Las Vegas." Dr. Murray has been the focus of an ongoing investigation into the death of the King of Pop that was ruled by Los Angeles police as a homicide. The doctor has not been charged with a crime. According to the Associated Press, Dr. Murray is a licensed cardiologist in Nevada, California and Texas.

Courteney Cox's 'Cougar Town' Postponed Due to a 'Private Family Matter'

"The Insider" has confirmed that the production of Courteney Cox's new show "Cougar Town" has come to halt as the actress is attending to her family. A rep for ABC released the following statement: "Production on 'Cougar Town' has been temporarily suspended in order for Courteney to tend to a private family matter." In "Cougar Town," Courteney plays a 40-something woman trying to get on with her life following an ugly divorce by dating younger men. The former "Friends" star is also a producer on the series.

'New Moon' Takes Bite Out of Weekend Box Office, Pulls in $140.7 Million

After breaking opening day records, 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon' continued a successful weekend at the box office, grossing $140.7 million in its first three days domestically and a total of $258.8 million worldwide. The Summit Entertainment film had one of the top 10 all-time openings, studio estimates show. Sandra Bullock's Southern charm paid off in her new film 'The Blindside,' pulling in $34.5 million, while the disaster film '2012' came in at No. 3, making another $26.5 million. Sony's alien adventure 'Planet 51' came in at No. 4, grossing an impressive $12.6 million. Rounding out the top five was 'Disney's A Christmas Carol,' pulling in another $12.2 million.
