Elisabeth Hasselbeck on Going Gluten Free
January 30, 2012
The View's Elisabeth Hasselbeck is opening up about coping with the disease that forced her to eliminate gluten from her diet.
Elisabeth told The Insider that she had to endure pain and stomach problems after being diagnosed with Celiac disease, an autoimmune disorder, when she was in her 20s.
Since she grew up in an Italian family that placed an importance on foods such as bread and pasta, she went on a quest to find a way to eat the things she liked while avoiding gluten. The TV star has now put out a new cookbook designed to help other gluten sufferers called Deliciously G-Free: Food So Flavorful they'll Never Believe It's Gluten-Free.
Watch the video to hear what prompted Elisabeth to write the book and to get her tips for healthy ways to remain gluten free!
