From Chloe to Dicki

Although she's best known for playing the deadly serious and socially awkward Chloe O'Brian on 24, Mary Lynn Rajskub is one of the funniest women in Hollywood. A fact her new webseries, Dicki, aims to put back at the forefront of our collective memories.

"Dicki is a 40 year old woman, sort of a little Napoleon Dynamite-ish," Mary Lynn tells TheInsider.com. "She hasn't left home, hasn't had a date and is branching out at 40 years old, so she's socially stifled because of that."

And the timing of this new series couldn't be better, since her CBS sitcom, How To Be A Gentleman, was just canceled. "This experience is the polar opposite [of Gentleman]," she says. "The web lets you try a bunch of different stuff and gauge the results. It's a great place to develop a character and see what the response is versus going to a bigger network where you get thrown into a different kind of development."

Although the idea for Dicki was initially a TV pitch, she couldn't be happier that the series found a home online. "The web is a great place to develop characters. It's just like doing stand up. You're doing bits, getting a response from the audience and tweaking based on that. You have time to figure it out. The web won't cancel you after three episodes."

Mary Lynn might be pulling double duty soon since Kiefer Sutherland recently said that a 24 movie script was just about done -- which came as news to his former co-star. "There have been no phone calls, no conversations, but I would love to read the script and take it from there. That show changed my life, there's no reason I wouldn't go back."

But Mary Lynn did have one character caveat for returning: "They have to promise to make Chloe a weird stripper. I want to be mostly nude, because that’s where I am in my career right now."
