Barack Obama Covers Rolling Stone Magazine

The Democratic presidential candidate is gracing the new cover of Rolling Stone Magazine. Obama reveled what music you might find if you looked in his Ipod . Obama, who grew up in the 70"s says that he listened to the Rolling Stone, Elton John and Earth,Wind and Fire. His musical hero from the era is non other than Stevie Wonder. Obama also has about 30 songs from Bob Dylan, Miles Davis, John Coltrane and Charlie Parker.

As for Rap music Obama expressed concerns about his daughters listening to it, “I am troubled sometimes by the misogyny and materialism of a lot of rap lyrics but I think the genius of the art form has shifted the culture and helped to desegregate music.”

Obama does mention that Russell Simmon, Jay-Z and Ludacris were "great talents and great businessmen". He added, "It would be nice if I could have my daughters listen to their music without me worrying that they were getting bad images of themselves".

You can't blame the man for being a concerned parent and I love that Obama keeps it real. You can check out more of his interview when the issue hits stands this Friday.
