INDIO, Calif. | Blistering. In more ways than one.
Late Saturday, at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts event, Prince thrilled the crowd of 60,000 with his take on “le rock ’n’ roll hot.”
His performance, the centerpiece of the three-day festival, had been announced only two weeks ago, immediately making an already very hip festival of more than 125 bands significantly more in-demand.
And Prince knew it.
“You are the coolest place on Earth right now!” Prince declared to a sea of tens of thousands, sweating in 99-degree heat.
The three-day event, regarded as the unofficial start to the U.S. festival season, also featured The Verve and Jack Johnson on Friday, and was headlined by Roger Waters on Sunday.
One of the big surprises of Prince’s concert was his cover of Radiohead’s “Creep,” with some lyrics adjusted.
I THINK THAT ABOUT SUMS UP MY FEELINGS IN REGARDS TO PRINCE AND THE FUNK FACE HE'S MAKING UP IN THAT PICTURE... YEP!
