WARNER BROS. LEAKS THE FIRST 5 MINS OF "THE DARK KNIGHT" TO THE WORLD WIDE WEB

The movie business has really changed. The studios are so hungry for Internet buzz, they themselves are unofficially leaking footage from upcoming movies out onto the world wide web. There is now 5 minutes worth of footage ... the 1st minutes, of course .. of Christopher Nolan's dramatic "The Dark Knight" available online. And Warner Bros coulnd't be happier. The clip, which was shown in December before Imax screenings of I Am Legend, features a set of sinister men in clown masks who attempt to pull off an outrageous bank raid while snarling to themselves about a new criminal who's terrorising Gotham City. While some have expressed concern that the death of Heath Ledger will taint their Dark Knight viewing experience, Warners is counting on the fact that his performance is so Oscar-worthy that it will be his version of James Dean's early death. Heath Ledger makes you forget about Jack Nicholson's over the top performance as The Joker  just a generation ago. That says everything about Ledger's performance, because even Nicholson's harshest critics won't say a bad word about his performance as The Joker.Interested in seeing the 1st five minutes?
