Wedding Bells for 'Bachelorette' Deanna and Jesse

On tonight's season finale of "The Bachelorette" Deanna Pappas chose Colorado snowboarder Jesse, accepting his proposal to "spend forever" with him, even announcing that a wedding date was set!


Both Deanna and Jesse described the other as their "soul mate" in the finale, and before Jesse arrived with the ring, Deanna told the camera, "My connection with Jesse is so strong. I feel like I cannot live without him."

Getting down on one knee, free spirit Jesse said, "When I first came into this I would never have thought that this process was real and that I could fall in love here, but I have fallen in love with you. … When I look at you, the word that always pops into my mind is 'forever.' I truly believe that you are my soul mate. … Deanna Marie Pappas, will you spend forever with me?"

Deanna, accepting his ring with a smile, exclaimed, "I love you. I've waited so long to say that. I love you."

In 'The Bachelorette: After the Final Rose,' the happy couple announced that their wedding date is set for May 9, 2009, and the nuptials might take place in the Bahamas, since that's where they fell in love. ABC gave the lovebirds a honeymoon trip to Santorini, Greece, in honor of Deanna's Greek heritage.

Unfortunately, in order to accept Jesse's proposal, Deanna had to turn down Jason, the thoughtful single dad from Seattle.

After he got down on one knee, Deanna interrupted him, saying, "No, I can't!"

She went on to say, "You have no idea how much I care about you. You're this amazing, perfect person."

However, a "but" was coming. "Even though I'm falling in love with you," Deanna told Jason, "I'm in love with someone else."

On the limo ride afterwards, nice guy Jason, reflecting on his divorce, told the camera with emotion, "I've had a huge hole in my heart for years." However, Jason noted he would always have his young son, Tyler: "The only for sure thing I have is my little boy."

  • Jesse makes more money then any of then with endorsements, a clothing line and 2 homes worth over half a million. Ron said he was the smartest man he ever met, and you are the stupidest. Try to know what you are talking about and get an education. This man has traveled all over the world.

    • It doesn't matter what anyone thinks, Deanna picked the right man for her. I am glad that she picked Jesse as I liked him from the beginning, but it wasn't my choice. As for whether Jesse makes money or not, that doesn't matter either. Money does not buy true love. Congratulations to Deanna & Jesse.

  • First of all this was DeAnna’s choice, not some fat jealous women’s. As far as Jesse being completely inexperienced that’s totally untrue. He has more experience then all the other 24 men combined. He had a two year relationship that he ended. Jason had a two year marriage where he was dumped, Why! He is not desperate like the other men, and get on every day and is extremely confident. He is a celebrity at Breckenridge, owns 2 houses at 26, and has a corporation JSAK which is both a foundation and a business. He is sponsored by companies to promote there gear and makes a ton of money. He has a plan, and so far it’s been very successful. If he stumbles he can continue to teach for $200.00 a lesson, how much do you make. As far as people being let on that’s the show and you know the risks!

  • I initially thought Deanna would cut Jesse right away, especially considering the jacket he wore the first day. Luckily, she was able to look beyond the jacket to what was inside, and she found a diamond in the rough. Jesse is, without a doubt, an honorable, loving man. I will try to learn from her example.

    • The Jacket and the hair was a gimmick, he tried to look like a Kook, and it was a test. As horrible as he looked his personaliyand heart carried him through to the love of his life.

  • I am so happy for Deanna & Jesse ! I love Jesse ! She made the best choice. I liked him from the start . I love that he wanted to establish their relationship as friends first. More people should learn to do that.
    Jesse is HOT ! What a beautiful couple.

  • DeAunna should have chosen Jason. I know he has a child and all but he really loved her, more than Jesse; you could really tell. I mean Jesse talks and acts like a teen and hes 26. Jason is kind and treats DeAunna well. Jason got along with her family and her. And I know it was DeAunna's decision, but she is a family girl and her family liked Jason and I know she did to; but not more than Jesse. But she chose Jesse and we can't do anything about that. Maybe one day, Jason and DeAunna will get together? You never know. But I think she would have been better with Jason. Don't you agree....

  • I liked Jason, but I can't imagine what it would be like to be young and newly married and having to share your new love with a child that isn't yours. It really would be hard for the child, too. Jesse will be a great, fun partner and I loved how he was always just himself, authentic and sincere!

  • I knew from the first time Jesse walked out of that limo that Deanna would probably end up with him. Jason already had a son and an established life with his son. Jesse is his own person he didn't push himself on Deanna like the other guys. I really wish them the best of luck!! Jesse is also really cute in his own way!

  • I love deanna she is an amazing person and i can tell she really cares abbout jesse.and even though i could also tell she cared about jason(whom i liked the best!!)I could tell she wasnt ready for what he had to bring(im not talkin bout ty!! she seemed to really like him) but in the end she chose jesse which i think over all the are and adorable couple and i hope nothing but happiness to them

  • I couldn't be happier that DeAnna chose Jesse. I'd be willing to bet that the reason she couldn't make up her mind until the 11th hour was because she was torn between what her family wanted and what she wanted. When Jesse didn't impress her family as much and her father was telling her to (basically) choose Jason you could tell DeAnna was heartbroken- that was not the answer she wanted to hear. Jason might have given DeAnna more security and stability but when your heart isn't in the relationship, it is doomed. Jason would have had his heart broken eventually anyway.
    Jesse and DeAnna will share a life full of happiness, excitement and most important, passion. I am 100% sure that this relationship will last 'forever'. I sincerely hope that both families have come together to bless this relationship and find satisfaction that both of their children are happy- which should be every parent's wish.
    I cannot wait for their wedding! Congratulations to you both!

    • I agree with you, 100%! You can see how she lights up when around Jesse and how they are both always reaching for each other, etc. This situation reminds of Tristin & Ryan - and we know how that worked out!

    • She didn’t decide in the 11th hour, she decided on the hometown date. She was complexly turned on by him when he piggy backed her down the mountain. He is an extremely strong man. She realized she could not live without him. She had a contractual agreement with ABC. Three people had to go to the fantasy suites. The invitation was from Chris Harrison not her.
