As reported by OK! last week, it looks like any rumors you’ll be seeing a big-screen version of hit NBC sitcom Friends are just that — rumors.

Not long after the first report appeared in London’s Daily Mail last week, reps for several of the show’s stars came out of the woodwork to shoot down the report that the cast, spurred on by the success of the recent Sex and the City feature film, had agreed to get together one last time.
“Nothing is happening in this regard,” said Matthew Perry’s rep in a statement. “The rumor is false.”

This sentiment was echoed by David Schwimmer’s publicist, who said, “there’s been no discussion about it.”

And dealing the final blow to the rumor was a rep for Jennifer Aniston, who said that his client was unaware of any such project, and who questioned by she would have any interest in revisiting her sitcom days.

Thank god for that. I don't mind seeing the other B-listers on the big screen. But if I have to see Jennifer Aniston's ed up insecure y face ever again, I will need a bottle of liquor to drown myself and see the movie drunk so when I wake up I will have no memories of watching that insecure y faced bitch on the big screen.

  • Jennifer Aniston sucks........my wife and i hate her movies. She doesn't even want to do a Friends reunion. She's a 'BIG' screen actress now. As she has said she been working hard the last few years to drop the Rachael Green persona. The last thing she wants to do is remind the public. Which is kinda funny considering friends is in syndication 7 days a week.

    Don't get me wrong, I would love to watch a friends reunion. I'm a fan of the show. Thing is...it was a multicamera show and when those are made into movies they always seem a little campy. As a previous poster has stated, a t.v. mini-series would be better.

    are you people serious? what kind of title is that. What the hell are those comments for jennifer aniston. Oh come on you are no big fan we got that. But there are people out here that really love the sitcom and want the movie to happen. It's not even funny if that you're aiming for, to even mention stuff like the ones in the ''article''. I believe Friends characterised a whole era of the american television and lifestyle in general. It is and we'll be an excellent work by a wonderful cast. So please let us hope.

  • making a friends movie will give friends a proper goodbye. the movie can be about ross and rachael wedding. i believe strongly that the fans of friends deserves a movie just as the fans of sex and the city got theirs.

  • even better would be a short mini series style reunions, say 4 episodes during a 4 week long period? anything could happen but this show is loved by so many people who miss that great group of friends, it would e a sure hit.

  • I think they should go ahead with the movie, the timing couldn't be more perfect and It would be a great way to say good bye (for good) these rumors have been around since the series ended and its a waste of oppitunity not to take it, this could really do things for Lisa, Matt LB, Matthew, and David who havent been as successful since the series ending in 2004, The time is perfect lets make the movie happen!!!

  • what has worked great for sitcom, won't have to (and probably won't) work for a movie. keep in mind that seasons 7, 8, 9 and especially 10 were just OK comparing to 1 - 6, i'm afraid the creators just have benn losing IT season by season, which doesn't give me much hope of the movie being a great one.
