Kate Hudson is the Big Winner

According to Page Six, Kate Hudson beat out Sienna Miller and Anne Hathaway for the role of Stephanie in the film version of “Nine.” Daniel Day-Lewis will play the male lead in the movie, which was a major Broadway hit.

Hudson joins a stellar cast, including Marion Cotillard, Nicole Kidman, Penelope Cruz, Sophia Loren and Judi Dench. A new song, “Cinema Italiano,” was written for Hudson’s character, a journalist for Vogue who also gets a sexy dance number with Lewis.

I haven’t enjoyed Kate in a movie since “Almost Famous,” so I’m kind of bummed over the casting choice.
