Actress Amanda Seyfried and Dominic Cooper, who plays her 'Mamma Mia!' fiance, had to pull out of the red carpet event "due to unforeseen circumstances," according to an e-mail that Outfest received at the last minute, according to a Page Six report. "There was no explanation," Outfest's public relations head Carl Larsen said.
People awaiting the stars at the festival were shocked as well. "Outrageous! How can [Seyfried] diss the gays like that? This is our movie," one attendee said.
Universal, the studio behind the ABBA-inspired film, backed its stars. "This was never a red-carpet event," they claim, saying that Seyfried "volunteered to come and introduce the movie and did a great job. There was never a red carpet for her to walk."
