While wife Rececca Romijn was busy at work on "Ugly Betty" in New York, Jerry O'Connell spent his first wedding anniversary in L.A. Monday, dishing to The Post about the couple's biggest fight during their first year of marriage. "We had a mouse problem in our house and I put out glue traps," O’Connell, a former fencer at NYU, remembers. "They were working but my wife kept saying ‘We’ve got to get a cat. We’ve got to get a cat.’ And I was like ‘We are not getting a cat. I am highly allergic.' To be honest, I don’t really like cats. "So I went away for a weekend and when I came back and there was this little kitten she had rescued. And the cat came in and I was like ‘Get rid of this cat. I don’t want it in the house.' But man now, this cat, I love it. "His name is Smitty. He sleeps right on my throat. It just started purring. It’s like a dog. It’s always following me around. Man I tell you, it’s my favorite. I am like a cat person now."
