With ABC Entertainment president Steve McPherson announcing Wednesday that the network would welcome late-night talker Jay Leno when he ends his "Tonight Show" run on NBC in 2009, we want to ask you, would you watch the funnyman if he moved to ABC? Write in below and then watch "The Insider" tonight to see if your comments make it on the show!

According to Reuters, McPherson made the comments during a gathering of television critics in Beverly Hills, with Jimmy Kimmel -- host of ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" -- acting as reporter and asking McPherson to address the rumors that the network has been courting Leno.

"I can't believe they are going to let this guy go at the top of his game," McPherson said. "If that happens, I guess we'll look at it and we will talk. And Jimmy will be involved in those discussions, and that will be that."

Meanwhile, Leno's rep tells "The Insider," "Jay is determined not to discuss any of the chatter on late night lines of succession, and it applies across the board."

Conan O'Brien is on tap to take over "The Tonight Show" next year.

  • If NBC wants to commit suicide then ABC should help in any way possible.I'll switch channels

    • Apparently you have never seen Conan O'Brien's show. If you did you would have a different view. He will be the death of the show. Johnny Carson would never have picked
Conan O'Brien as a host for the Tonight Show.
Johnny knew talent when he saw it and he saw talent in Jay. Bad mistake NBC!

  • I would only watch the Headlines. Leno may be more funny but Letterman still has a way better show night in and night out.

    • I think you are getting the two confused, Conan O'Brien is the one that is not funny, not Leno!

  • The only things that are funny on his show are Headlines and when he talks to the people on the street. And the humor from those bits come from either the people or the headline! Not him.

  • I would watch Jay Leno on any network; NBC has made a huge mistake; Conan O'Brien is NOT funny; do not plan to ever watch him--no matter what time he's on.

  • If would follow Jay Leno to another station. NBC is set up for failure with Conan. I can't believe he is taking over...Jimmy Kimmel is the one who should get it.

    • Sorry but this person is correct. NBC promised O'Brien the the Tonight Show behind Leno's back. Leno had no intentions of retiring.

  • Yes indeed. We will definitely watch Jay Leno on ABC. NBC is really stupid to think we want to watch Conan O'Brien. We don't watch him now because he not funny! We're with you Jay....just let us know where you will be!

  • Leno's "jokes" are obvious and simple.
If he goes to ABC he needs to be on during Prime Time, since Jay has no cutting edge material for Late Night tv and that way his elderly audience can stay up and watch him.

  • Of course Leno fans don't think O'Brien is funny because if they think Leno is funny they they obviously don't know humour.
Conan's jokes are surprising and smart, he (and his writers) are brilliant!

  • LOVE JAY!!! He has DOMINATED the ratings for YEARS. Yeah, conan is funny, yeah Dave can be okay too...but both don't come near to Jay. There will always be those Dave lovers, but there are way more Jay lovers out there.

  • I will follow Leno to ABC - I think Jimmy Kimmel should have gotten the Tonight Show anyway...I'm not sure where the Jimmy Fallon choice came from anyway

  • I would probably watch Jay Leno on any other station, but I will not under any circumstances ever watch Conan O'Brien. I think that NBC is making a big mistake having him host the Tonight Show. He is not not funny at all.

  • Are you kidding? Not that I welcome the change of command to Conan O'Brien (he's not any funnier than Jay Leno is), I have been waiting for a long time for Jay Leno to move on. I avoid watching him as often as possible. The show died for me when Johnny Carson retired. The only reason I watch any of the show is because my wife likes it and she has control over the late night bedroom TV. Jay, take your millions and go somewhere into seclusion so nobody has to be exposed to you ever again!!!

  • I would not watch Jay Leno on any station, and the same for Conan O'Brien. The networks need to reach out for better talent than is currently being offered. Even Letterman has lost his edge. With the multitude of comedic expertise available, surely a handfull would consider night-time talk shows as a viable venue.
