Jessica Simpson Gets Booed!

Jessica Simpson's first country album drops on September 9, and apparently not everyone is looking forward to it, including the crowd who attended the Country Thunder USA festival on Saturday in Wisconsin.

According to Us Weekly, the blonde bombshell, donning her Daisy Dukes, received both applause and boos from the crowd when she opened for Sara Evans.

"She's an embarrassment to country music," one member of the crowd reportedly told the local paper.

But not everyone had such an averse reaction. "I actually like her country songs better," another concert-goer said. "She has a great voice, plus, she's adorable."

Meanwhile, when Jessica wasn't dodging the hecklers, she was getting personal with the crowd.

"I don't know what your perception is of Jessica Simpson or what tabloid you buy, but I just want you to know that I'm just a girl from Texas," she said. "I'm just like you. I'm doing what I love and dating a boy."

She then went on to dedicate the song "You're My Sunday," to boyfriend Tony Romo.

  • Well, the kid got her wish. She’s in the news again, probably because she couldn’t stand being second fiddle to Ashlee. Thanks to her shenanigans, the song got the buzz she was looking for. It’s what happens afterward that counts. She’d do well to...

  • Jessica Simpson is a poser. She is only doing country because all of her other stuff is crap and apparantly so is her country music. She is just trying to make a buck which is understandable. i think that maybe Tony's favorite music is country so...

  • who would spend money on her music???
I guess they don't have a life. I wouldn't pay anything to hear her sing or buy any of her so called clothing shoes etc.

  • Can't make it as a pop singer so she'll try country. I guess if you have enough money you can try anything. Country fans are very loyal and this won't be a Simpson country fan.

  • When a pop star suffers a string of unsuccessful attempts at career change, it usually results in the recording of a horrible Country album. Watch out for the Christian album next...then you'll know her career is really in the toilet.

  • I like her. I hope its not country music fans that are saying these rude things. Something wrong when Americans boo one another for being successful, or trying new things in life. Good luck JS.
