Christian Bale is denying the allegation he assaulted his family members, according to a statement released by his reps to "The Insider." The statement reads as follows: "Christian Bale attended a London police station today, on a voluntary basis, in order to assist with an allegation that had been made against him to the police by his mother and sister. Mr. Bale who denies the allegation, co-operated throughout, gave his account in full of the events in question, and has left the station without any charge being made against him by the police. At this time, there will be no further comment by Mr. Bale."
"The Insider" obtained the first shot of 'Dark Knight' star Christian Bale since he was reportedly arrested and questioned by police in London earlier today over allegations he assualted his 61-year-old mother and 40-year-old sister.
This shot shows Bale leaving a local police station after London's Daily Mail said he was questioned for four hours. People.com reports that after Bale bailed in a blacked-out silver Mercedes, a 10-man police escort accompanied him to London's Dorchester Hotel through an underground entrance.
It was in Bale's ritzy suite at the Dorchester that the alleged family feud took place one day before the 'Dark Knight''s big London premiere. Britain's Press Association reported the actor's mother Jenny and sister Sharon filed a complaint with police on Monday, alleging that Bale lashed out at them at the hotel.
No official word of the arrest has come from London's Scotland Yard or Bale's publicist.
"The Insider" has also learned that Christian was hours late to his scheduled interviews today in London, but we are told he may still attend the press junket. The entire cast of 'The Dark Knight' is scheduled to be in Barcelona, Spain on Wednesday for a premiere, followed by the Japanese premiere on July 28.
