New Video: Christian Bale's First Public Appearance Since Arrest

Christian Bale made his first public appearance tonight, at the 'Dark Knight' premiere in Barcelona, since he was dogged by allegations that he assaulted his mother and sister in London.

 

Accompanied by his wife Sibi, the embattled star showed up late but willingly obliged autograph requests from his fans. According to the Associated Press, Bale appeared calm but remained quiet on the red carpet, not speaking to reporters and making no comment regarding the alleged incident in London.

Bale was questioned by police regarding the alleged incident on Tuesday, and in a statement to "The Insider" his lawyer said that his client denies the allegation and left the station without any charge being made against him by the police. Sources have also denied reports that Bale was having issues in his marriage that could have affected the alleged incident.

Next up, Bale is scheduled to travel with his wife and daughter to Tokyo for Monday's premiere of the blockbuster sequel, which Warner Brothers confirms just surpassed the $200 million mark. After the Japanese premiere, Bale will head straight to New Mexico to continue filming his next blockbuster, 'Terminator Salvation,' a set on which he reportedly displayed a bad temper.

  • The media needs to find another story with more substance. Assault in England is the equivalent of a loud verbal argument in the states. He wasn't arrested, he went willingly to the police station for questioning and he was released without charges...

  • Just b/c he maybe a handsome guy doesn't mean that he is not violent. This guy obviously has some issues that need to be resolved. Maybe counseling would help. If he'ting his mother or sister. I hope he is not hitting his wife!! Who knows!
