Did Matt Lauer Cross the Line?

When Matt Lauer interviewed Denise Richards on the "Today" show and asked her questions about her split with ex-husband Charlie Sheen, did he cross the line? On this Sunday's finale of E!'s reality show, "Denise Richards: It's Complicated," Denise is shown breaking down in tears, after the interview in which Matt asked questions about a reported email she allegedly sent to Charlie's now-wife asking to use his sperm to have another child.

 

But according to an NBC insider, "Denise was happy with her 'Today' show interview. She even took the time to thank Matt Lauer for a wonderful interview and for giving her a platform to speak before she left the studio."

Meanwhile, the official word from NBC is: "Denise's 'Today' show interview was noteworthy and compelling, and she is always welcome back at 'Today.'"

  • She asked for it. That was the biggest fake "Oh woe is me", I ever saw. She had just brought it up herself on another talk show. When you are in the pulic's eye you can't turn it off and on whenever it suits you. Matt Lauer is first class. Pat M

  • Who cares? I feel bad for the kids. We'll end up seeing them in rehab, or 6 feet under from drug overdose, or pregnant in 9 years. Both parents should be ashamed of themselves. Denise is a horrible mom, and Charlie an amoral, spoiled Hollywood brat....

  • Not crazy about Denise but I noticed when Tom Cruise was on the Today show old Matt backed off and didn't ask hard hitting questions but Denise on the hand is "B" actress and fair game.

  • Definately not the sharpest knife in the drawer. I am so tired of seeing her on tv or on magazines. Whatever happened to seeing real actresses on publications? Not one whose only ability to keep in the Hollywood's spotlight is by using an ex-husband...

  • i dont think he crossed the line denise should be thinking of her kids right now and what kind of mother would do that to her kids...she says she is going through so much then why would u put your kids through that by putting them on a reality...
