Meanwhile, the LAPD confirmed to "The Insider" that the first call about Shia LaBeouf's car accident was a 911 call placed from a cell phone.

LaBeouf, 22, was arrested early today on suspicion of drunk driving following a car accident in Hollywood that injured the actor and two others, according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff's spokesman.

The star of the blockbuster 'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull' was the driver of a vehicle involved in a collision at about 2:30 a.m., the spokesman tells "The Insider."

LaBeouf and a female passenger in his vehicle were injured in the crash, as was a woman driving the other car, the Sheriff's spokesman said. The driver of the other car was able to drive away from the scene on her own.

The actor was arrested for alleged DUI and released to the hospital and underwent surgery on his hand, the Sheriff's spokesman said. His female passenger was treated for minor injuries.

A rep for LaBeouf had no comment on the incident.

Well, if he was driving drunk he should get what is coming to him, However only Shia knows if he was drunk or not!
Give him a chance, after all it is only alleged DUI not affirmed...see more

I love Shia Labeouf, he is a wonderful actor, but I do think that he should get the same treatment like everyone else.

Do i think this will affect his carreer? No, he is a great actor and those who have done worse are still acting. Shia needs to take responsibility and do some jail time. Show people that just because he is famous does not mean be is above the law.

Are you serious? It wasnt his fault! As a matter of fact Shia Labeouf is a responsible actor. All the other guys his age, or atleast most, arent half as responsible as he is. And well, the car accident, i think we should just leave that all behind. All that matters is that hes okay. :]
