Pictures: Bachelor Matt Proposes to Shayne

Not getting married may be the one thing about ending their relationship that British "Bachelor" Matt Grant and his now ex-fiancée Shayne Lamas agree on.

Yesterday, Shayne announced that she's keeping the 2.85 carat engagement ring "forever!" and that it was okay with Matt, but today, in a statement to People, he disputes that announcement.

"We never discussed this," he tells the magazine. "I never said it was cool to just keep it. If she said we spoke about it, she just made it up. Sometimes she thinks she can say anything and I’ll go along with it."

Matt adds, "It's not a television or a handbag. It’s a symbol of a marriage that didn't happen."

Yesterday, the blonde bombshell told People magazine she even has a special spot for the prized possession: "I have it and I am going to keep it forever for the rest of my life ... It's safe and clean and in a glass box like a glass slipper."

Lamas and Grant became engaged on the finale of the ABC reality show, but recently announced publicly they were parting ways. Lamas also tells People that any reports that she was unfaithful to Grant while they were together are false. "I would never, ever cheat on Matt. He was my fiancé."

Too Bad! He seemed like a nice "chap", but got all caught up in the "Hollywood" hype! I knew from the very beginning that Shayne was NOT the type of woman for Matt. She was too "fake", but UNFORTUNATELY he was blinded by the "blonde".

- Look who her father is. He has not had a commited realtionsip in how long. Marries on and has kids and then off to another woman. This is what he is showing his daughters that you bounce from meaningless reationship to another.

So what happened from the tome they arpeared on the final rose show with Deanna and Jesse. Were they lying and saying they were together but, really were not. What changed. They seemed fake anyways and why would he move here from Englad. I have watched the Bachalor since the beginning and no man has married the woman they chose at the end. No commitment.
