Ashlee Gives John Mayer the Thumbs Up

There's a new man in the Simpson household these days.  Overly involved dad, Joe Simpson, has been out of the limelight lately (phew!), and his daughters have found a new man in their lives: John Mayer.

Jessica has been dating John for several months now (though we're not sure whether to count the period leading up to her embarrassing "I'm in Love!" magazine cover). Things are getting pretty cozy for the musical couple, who've been photographed giving PDAs on at least a couple of continents.  And now, Jessica's sister Ashlee is getting in on the Mayer love.

Apparently, Ashlee got an insider's view of the couple's relationship when she was living with her older sister a few months back.  (Ashlee's new house was undergoing renovations.)  Fortunately, the experience was three's company and not a crowd.  According to insiders, Ashlee got along really well with John and strongly approves of her big sis's new boyfriend.

No word on what Joe thinks of Jessica's latest love.  Aside from some quality time with Ashlee, Jess has been keeping John all to herself.  Anything to avoid the three-ring circus that was her marriage to Nick Lachey, we suppose.
