The star was in a one car accident around 11:30 p.m. last night north of the small Southern town near where he calls home.
The vehicle in which he was traveling flipped several times. He and a female passenger were rescued using the Jaws Of Life.
Morgan Freeman was airlifted from the scene of the accident to a hospital in Memphis, Tenn. Alcohol is not suspected as a factor in the wreck.
Freeman's condition is unknown, but state troopers say he was talking at the scene before he was taken to the hospital.
The condition of the unidentified female passenger is unknown.
