Morgan Freeman Scheduled for Surgery

As "The Insider" earlier reported, Morgan Freeman was in a car crash Sunday night at 11:30 near his home town in rural Mississippi and hospitalized in "serious" condition.



In an impromptu press conference, Freeman's business partner Bill Luckett said that the Oscar® winner had asked him to speak to the press to clear up rumors.

Here is what he had to say: Freeman has sustained a bad fracture to his left elbow and has opted to have surgery to repair the damages. The procedure will either take place at 6 p.m. this evening or at noon on Tuesday. The actor also has neck and shoulder injuries, but they are not serious. His injuries will take three to four months to heal.

Luckett added that Morgan is speaking quite a bit and receiving lots of phone calls and e-mails.

Morgan's business partner also explained that the 'Dark Knight' star was returning home from his house when the accident occurred, and they believe that it was due to a mechanical issue with the car.
