Eva Mendes' Calvin Klein Ad Censored for TV!

Eva Mendes' new commercial for the Calvin Klein perfume "Secret Obsession" has been deemed so risque that U.S. television networks won't air it, says New York's Daily News.

The uncut ad, which contains a peek-a-boo flash of Eva's nipple as she writhes around topless on a bed, will titillate only on TVs abroad. A sanitized version will run in the U.S. on cable, says the Daily News.

"We believe the commercial is exceptional and hits the mark for Secret Obsession," Calvin Klein prez and COO Tom Murry said, adding that the network ban is "not entirely a surprise for the U.S. market."

  • First, I don't think she is that great looking, nice body yes, but ditch the makeup and airbrushing and all you have is average. Second, if a woman needs to take off her clothes to get publicity- she is nothing.

  • To those citing the irony of how American television allows violence but not sexuality: I heartily agree. And to those citing the double standard of 'hey, we can look at a guy's chest--but oh no, a woman's breasts are off-limits!': I again heartily...

  • I also think an entire cultural heritage should be dismissed just because I don't agree with it. My way is always right even though there is no justification for believin that.

Bunch of typical euro-trash wankin about what will never be. Grow up...

  • i think it is funny if you look at the violence that is allowed in the US in media but you look at how sexuality is deemed negative. Compared to Europe in which sexuality is natural and violence is treated more harshly in media. I think we in the US...

  • Oh My Gosh!!! A nipple!!!! We're all going to burn!!!
Typical of the double standards here, we cant see a beautiful woman's body, but if she was beheaded, shot, stabbed with a knife or something, it'd be just another CSI episode.

  • I don't dispute the fact that Eva is beautiful and would be great for selling this product. Marketing perfume can be a delicate matter, how do you do it? Well, it seems the most creative way appears to always be with half naked men or women, how...

  • What is wrong with you American's? I mean this is 2008. You are to much puritan. What's the problem with showing a beautiful body on TV when it's only a small part of a nipple that is visible. Norway

    • Well since we do not censor any violence we have to censor sexuality, I guess it's just how censorship balanced out here.

  • What's wrong with seeing a nipple? If it's OK to see a mans nipple, then it should be OK to see a womans as well. I like it!
