According to George Nader, an art dealer and promoter who helped Brad Pitt look for real estate on the island last year, Pitt was seen looking into marriage statutes in the Caribbean nation.
"He asked me by email if I could investigate marriage laws for foreigners - but just that. He didn't tell me they are coming to marry or when they would do it,'' Nader told The Associated Press.
Britain's OK! magazine has reported that the couple plan to wed in the Dominican Republic, where they stayed last year when Jolie was working on the movie The Good Shepherd.
