"Heroes" star Hayden Panettiere's father Alan was arrested early Monday on suspicion of spousal assault, the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department confirmed to "The Insider," and we have also confirmed that he was released Monday afternoon following about 10 hours in custody.
Alan Panettiere, 49, was taken into custody at around 3:00 a.m. in West Hollywood, according to a police booking report, which lists a bail amount of $50,000.
Sheriff's Department spokesman Steve Whitmore tells "The Insider" the victim was allegedly struck three times with an open hand.
Earlier Sunday before the alleged incident, Hollywood.tv cameras caught Hayden at a charity event at Eva Longoria's restaurant Beso in West Hollywood.
