New: Isaac Hayes Died from Stroke

Singer Isaac Hayes died from a stroke, Shelby County Sheriff's Deputies say. Officer Stephen Shular tells "The Insider" that Hayes died Sunday of a stroke associated with hypertension.

 

According to Shular, investigators with the Shelby County Medical Examiner's Office say there was no indication that he fell or suffered any trauma, and they will not conduct an autopsy.

The Grammy winner was found unconscious in his Memphis home Sunday next to a still-running treadmill. Attempts to revive him were unsuccessful.

  • I totally agree. If I were the family, I'd want an autopsy done so I would know exactly what the cause of death was. I wouldn't want to assume anything.

  • How do they know he died from a stroke versus a massive heart attack without performing an autopsy? Sounds like someone's making assumptions without any evidence to back it up.
