Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake Split

The duo said,

It has always been our preference not to comment on the status of our relationship, but, out of respect for the time we spent together, we feel compelled to do so now, in the light of recent speculation and inaccurate stories that are being reported by the media.

We have, in fact, ended our romantic relationship, and have done so mutually and as friends, with continued love and respect for one another.

The rumors of the couple’s split were on peak since Christmas when Timberlake, 25, and Diaz, 34, spent Christmas holidays separately and Timberlake allegedly hung-out with ex-girlfriend Veronica Finn.

‘Charlie’s Angels’ star Diaz, was also absent at the opening of Timberlake’s 36-date FutureSex/LoveShow tour.

According to People Magazine, Timberlake told the crowd, ‘Sometimes love isn’t easy’. The magazine said the couple often dodged break-up rumors but quoted sources as saying this time it was real.

A source close to Timberlake revealed that the breaking point in their relationship came when Diaz became angry on knowing that Justin had specially selected Scarlett Johansson to star as his love interest in his new music video, ‘What Goes Around.’

A source told,

He sees he has more in common with Scarlett and just thinks she’s really cool. They’re both just having fun.
