The AP reports that the judge made the order based on a court-appointed psychiatrist's recommendation. The psychiatrist called Leatherman, who was warned after repeatedly interrupting the judge during the hearing, "delusional" and "paranoid."
A trial will begin September 9, according to the AP.
Leatherman was arrested outside Cusack's home on March 30, 2008, on suspicion of stalking the actor from February through the end of March of this year. She was also charged with two misdemeanor counts: petty theft and disobeying the restraining order Cusack filed against her. Cusack was not the alleged victim of her petty theft. Leatherman was held on $500,000 bail and faces a possible maximum state prison term of three years if convicted on the stalking charge.
