Avril Lavigne’s concert in Malaysia is still on, Reuters reports.

Government officials reversed a decision barring Avril from performing on Aug. 29, leading up to the country’s Aug. 31 independence-day festivities. The Canadian pop-star’s show in Kuala Lumpur was originally canned after protests from an Islamist party.

Just last October, pop superstar Beyonce Knowles canceled her own show in Malaysia to protest against the country’s strict dress code.

  • I think that it's unfair to try to put our standards onto another country. they have the right to make the rules they want to.
