"The Insider" confirms that Nicollette Sheridan and Michael Bolton have ended their engagement.

"Nicollette Sheridan and Michael Bolton have amicably ended their engagement," a rep for the couple tells People magazine. "They appreciate your respect for their privacy in this matter."

The couple originally began seeing each other in the 1992 and that lasted for five years. They then resumed their relationship in 2005 and announced in March 2006 they were engaged.

  • I think they will truly miss one another. After 8 years together, they shared something special. Too bad they couldn't focus on what's right between them.

  • i hate to hear that. i thought they made a good couple. but when both of you have different carers and don't set a date to get married,that seems like one of them really didn't want to. to busy to tie the knot
