Mackenzie Phillips Arrested

"The Insider" confirms that actress Mackenzie Phillips has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance after being stopped at Los Angeles International Airport.  

Airport police confirmed that Phillips, 48, was held in custody at LAX after security screeners allegedly discovered "what appeared to be heroin and cocaine" in her possession. 

She was booked into jail in Van Nuys on a felony drug possession charge, with bail set at $10,000, according to an airport police spokesman. Phillips' agent had no comment on the incident. 

Phillips, who gained fame on the 1970s sitcom "One Day at a Time," was reportedly later fired from the show for drug abuse. She has publicly spoken about her battle with drugs and her sobriety.

  • ive followed mckenie phillips all my life i think she is a great actress. to be addicted to drugs and be in the public eye has got to be the pitts. I pray for her to get better

  • who cares....truly.......spoiled actress....lots of people without privilege have serious addictions...I guess having another TV series on Disney didn't help her....and all her celebrity Tv appearances about how tough her life was...blah blah...
