Earlier this week, the 'Dreamgirls' Oscar winner and former "American Idol" contender broke the news to "The Insider" that she felt honored to sing "The Star-Spangled Banner" on the night Barack Obama accepts the nomination for president at the Democratic National Convention. Jennifer, who calls Barack a "great role model," said that she had never yet sang for such a large crowd.
"This is definitely one of the biggest honors for me," she said. "It's something that I've really wanted to do."
Jennifer will release her self-titled debut album on Sept. 30.
