Report: Bristol Palin's Teenage Boyfriend 'Loves' Idea of Daddyhood

The New York Daily News reports that close friends of Levi Johnston say the reported daddy-to-be of Bristol Palin's baby is supposedly excited about the prospect of becoming a teenage papa.

"Of course he is psyched to be a father," said 18-year-old Blake Weiland, reportedly a close friend of Johnston. "I mean he loves the idea of being a father and raising a child."

"I know him very well, though, and I know he'll be a great father and husband," Weiland added.

The NYDN says that another reported friend, Alec Schwarzburg, 18, said Johnston will marry McCain VP pick Sarah Palin’s daughter by choice -- not because his hand is being forced.

"If he didn't want to, he wouldn't. I'm sure it's his decision," Schwarzburg said.

The Associated Press adds that 18-year-old Levi left Alaska Tuesday morning to join Bristol and the rest of the Palin family at the Rublican National Convention, which could make the young couple the center of media attention there.

Parents-to-be Bristol and Levi will wed, the Palin family disclosed on Monday, and Johnston's mother told the AP that the pair had planned to marry even before Bristol knew she was pregnant.

"The Insider" confirmed the pregnancy on Monday.

  • Who cares! Teenage pregnancies are no big deal these days. She is five months pregnant and only in the last several days everyone has nothing else to talk about. Why? Because her mother is running for VP. So what! Lets move on

  • It's sad to me- Children having children. I could think of far better goals for my child than being a parent at 17 years old- A baby changes everything, I hope she's ready. Teenage pregnancy is definitely on the rise and the US seems to glamorize...

  • It is unortunate that it is getting national attention. I am worried about my teenage kids. Are we sending the message that it is ok to have babies at the age of 17. I think Mcain should drop palin. She is a liability.

  • I feel that you can have all the babies you want, but at that age? Come on!!! In my opinion I feel that is poor parenting on her part. I guess this is par for the course for someone who feels that sex eduction should be taken out of schools.
