I Like It I Don't Like It
We're tracking America's newest celebrity and the biggest story on the web! Sarah Palin will sit down with Charles Gibson for her first national TV interview since becoming John McCain’s running mate, according to ABC.

The venerable ABC News anchor snagged the interview, while many thought Oprah Winfrey would be the obvious choice after the White House hopeful revealed her 17-year-old daughter is pregnant.

However, despite reports to the contrary, "The Insider" broke news on Friday that Oprah would not be covering the political beat during the election.

"There has been absolutely no discussion about having Sarah Palin on my show," she told us. "At the beginning of this presidential campaign when I decided that I was going to take my first public stance in support of a candidate, I made the decision not to use my show as a platform for any of the candidates. I agree that Sarah Palin would be a fantastic interview, and I would love to have her on after the campaign is over."

  • But she had Obama on her show and talks him up constantly, doesn't she? Kind of hypocritical, isn't it??

    • It certainly does show that Oprah is pushing for Obama and isn't being neutral which is in contract to her talking about not wanting politics on her show.

  • After reading this, I now know that Oprah is pushing for Obama because he is black not not because she her gut truly believes that he is the best candidate for the job. As we get closer to this election, we are finding out more and more about what this election is all about. America has really lost direction.

    • If you are disgusted by her then don't watch her but millions of people will and they will vote for McCain and Palin and they are going to win.

  • It doesn't have anything to do with color. McCain has the most experience and will lead the best. Obama doesn't have enough experience

  • Of course Oprah would have Sarah Palin on her show AFTER the election. Oprah is very intelligent.. any air-time for Sarah Palin is free publicity. It might sway people to vote for this new star rather than Oprah's star.

  • I agree..I just heard Eva Longoria say "Oprah doesn't use her show as a platform for politics"...HELLO... Oprah is all about Obama. She campaigned 3 DAYS for him!!

  • I'm not surprised Oprah choosed not to have Sarah Palin on her show. She's very dedicated to Obama, and wouldn't want any of her audience swayed to vote for Palin. Which they just might!....check her out!!

  • Oh and re: the fact that someone wrote Sarah Palin's speech. Do you think Obama or Biden just recite oratory off the cuff? All of them have written speeches and teleprompters. What I find interesting is that Sarah P's was out of sync so she need to wing it for at least part of her speech. I don't think that her speech was as good as either of the Clinton's, which were great, but it was certainly good enough to buy her the benefit of the doubt for now...

Oh and I love Meg Ryan asking to see Palin respond to direct and pointed questions - I would be interested to have anyone on either ticket answer pointed questions with followup at this point. Other than raising taxes I am not sure what Obama stands for vs McCain, who at this point is supporting drilling.

  • Thing is when You have your own show, you can do what you want to do like Oprah. She doesn't have to explain anything to anybody on why she made her choice. It's not about race it's about change oh i forgot that's the same thing McCain is NOW talking about. How's it change when the republicans have been in control for the last eight years? Don't bank on women being blinded by Palin's last minute pick...it is being seen for what it is...deceptions which has been coming from out of touch republican politicians for 8+ yrs. Who cares if Palin's daughter is pregnant...when are she & McCain gonna really talk about the issues?

    • Go Oprah! Palin is a fool! she is allowing the Republicans to use her as the poster child for the self righteous... Give it up! The skirt could of been past on to someone with more experience. It's so obvious what going on here! Wake up people!

  • Oprah dissed Hillary, too.
Of course, she's "in the tank" for Obama- just like the rest of the Obama-mania mainstream media, left wing loons, Hollywood loudmouths and related parties of the "misinformation highway."
