GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin had a private tanning bed installed at the Juneau, Alaska Governor’s Mansion in 2007, Us Weekly reports.

"She did. She paid for it with her own money," Roger Wetherell, chief communications officer of Alaska's Department of Transportation and Public Facilities tells Us.

The tanning bed was used, and purchased from a health club, says the mag. The cost of a tanning bed can reportedly reach $35,000 when installed in a home.

  • For those that rag on tanning beds, learn the facts. UV Light kills a myriad of pathogens. I have 6 children and a tanning bed...so what's the big deal? People who get more sunlight and healthier.
