Just in case you weren't sure what to do with the time left between now and the High School Musical Tour's Jan. 26th arrival in L.A., the Cheetah Girls (Disney Channel's other fake singing group) have come to save the day. Tonight, at the Honda Center. [Link]
James Denton, a.k.a. Mike on "Desperate Housewives", will be signing copies of his book, "Prenatal Fitness Fix" on Saturday in Torrance, CA. (You heard me.) Don't get too comfortable, though. Denton's wife and co-author, Erin O'Brien, will be there to sign the books, too. [Link]
The New York City and Chicago weekend events are after the jump.
New York:
Morrissey may feel like he leads a pretty private life but fans from all over the world are congregating at the Team Gallery in NYC to view a fantastic photography display that captures the past two years of his post-Smiths career. Plus, if you're a truly hardened fan, there's a good chance you'll see yourself sweating somewhere in photos of the crowd, too. [Link]
"Translations", the incredible work by 1980s Irish playwright Brian Friel, is still in previews at the Biltmore Theatre, so please go see it. You know, while the bragging rights are still fresh, or whatever. [Link]
David Lynch (director of "Blue Velvet", "Mulholland Drive") will be making a presentation of his book, "Catching the Big Fish: Meditation, Consciousness and Creativity" at Alice Tully Hall on Saturday night. This showcase is a pretty big deal, so don't just plan on showing up. Register online and see if there any seats are left first. [Link]
Chicago:
LL Cool J will be signing copies of "LL Cool J's Platinum Workout" at Borders on Friday at night. A 7:00 signing means you've got all day to stand in line, so trust me, people will. Especially when a fitness guru like this is involved. [Link]
Darren Aronofsky, director of "Requiem for a Dream" and wife to Rachel Weisz, will be making an appearance tonight at a free screening of his latest film, "The Fountain". Honestly, no matter what happens, there's nothing to lose here. Unless of course you're into LL Cool J's fitness DVDs. Which is totally cool, too. [Link]
