Barbra Streisand to McCain: 'Women Are Not That Stupid'

Film and music star Barbra Streisand is candidly speaking her mind about GOP presidential nominee John McCain!

The Oscar-winning Streisand posted a blog on her website entitled, “McCain Doesn't Get It: Women are not that stupid,” in which she blasts McCain for his VP pick Sarah Palin.

Streisand writes: “I believe John McCain chose Gov. Palin because he truly believes that women who supported Hillary [Clinton] -- an experienced, brilliant, life-long public servant--would vote for him because his Vice President has two x chromosomes. McCain’s selection of Governor Palin is a transparent and irresponsible decision all in the name of trying to win this election.”

In another blog posting entitled, “Meet The REAL John McCain,” Streisand lists information that she says reveals where McCain truly stands on the important election issues -- women, the environment, education and civil liberties.

As The Insider revealed, Streisand is scheduled to perform at a benefit for Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama Tuesday night in Beverly Hills.

The event will open with a reception and dinner that will cost attendees $28,500 a person, followed by a later event with Streisand at $2,500 a ticket, says the Associated Press.

  • Barbra is right. According to polls, folks seem to be falling for the issue-less hype of Palin, all the while claiming to care about America. Whatever. The Gibson interview and McCain's recent economy comments say it all.
