Actress Tatum O'Neal -- who was arrested in June of this year for trying to buy cocaine -- speaks out to "The Insider" about her father and half-brother's recent arrest for drug possession.

"Addiction, if untreated, can lead to jail, institutions and death. I love them both and I am sorry to hear about this," Tatum said.

"The Insider" confirmed yesterday that actor Ryan O'Neal and his son Redmond were arrested on suspicion of narcotics possession after Redmond's probation search at the actor's Malibu home.

Deputies found Redmond O'Neal, 23, in possession of methamphetamine, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore, adding that the drug was also found in Ryan's room.

The father and son were released on bail yesterday.

  • This is a very sad family story. The kids were saddled with a loser for a father and inherited his addiction to drugs. I feel very sorry for all of them. Tatum has so much talent and such low self-esteem...I would love to see her and her brothers...
