Warner Bros. Planning 'I Am Legend' Prequel

After the successful release of ‘I Am Legend’ grossed $584 million worldwide, Warner Bros. is now planning to make a prequel to the popular film!

Variety reports that the studio’s plan includes having superstar Will Smith reprise his role as Robert Neville and will have director Francis Lawrence return to the project in the same capacity.

The studio has selected D.B. Weiss to write the script based on a detail outline made by Smith, Lawrence and producers Akiva Goldsman and James Lassiter, says the paper.

The plot will reportedly take place during humanity’s last days, just before a virus outbreak spreads and Smith’s character is eventually killed in the first film.

Smith’s next film project, ‘Seven Pounds,’ is due for release in December.

  • i think i like the alternative ending better, where he gives back the female and dont blow himself up. just love will and dont like it when he dies in the end

  • The first one was decent, it didnt follow the original books plot fully which if it did would have deffinately made the movie better, but as a stan alone tale it was good.

  • I thought the movie was great and I'm so glad it was different from the book. But I don't think that they need another I Am Legend movie. They don't need to ruin a perfectly fine movie.

  • The first one was not extraordinary but the plot remains full of potential nonetheless so I hope this prequel will be better directed.
