"Heroes" Star's Dad Charged with Battery

"Heroes" star Hayden Panettiere's father, Alan Panettiere, was charged with misdemeanor battery today, related to his arrest in August for allegedly assaulting his wife, Hayden's mother Leslie.

Alan was taken into custody at around 3:00 a.m. on August 11 in West Hollywood, according to a police booking report. Sheriff's Department spokesman Steve Whitmore told "The Insider" at the time that the victim was allegedly struck three times with an open hand. The 49-year-old is scheduled to be arraigned in October in Beverly Hills and could face up to a year in county jail if convicted.

Alan and Leslie were photographed walking their dogs together in Los Angeles only hours after Alan was released from jail following his August arrest.
