Shia LaBeouf will not face DUI charges for the July car wreck that, well, wrecked his hand. Though the star was reportedly drinking earlier in the evening, the crash wasn't actually his fault -- the driver of the other car ran a red light.
"After reviewing the case, we've declined to file any charges due to insufficient evidence," says DA spokeswoman Jane Robison. He is, however, still required to attend a DMV hearing Friday, where he might have his license suspended. "When an individual refuses to take a blood alcohol test, that person's license is automatically suspended for six to nine months," L.A. County Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore told People.com.
Shi has already had multiple surgeries on his left hand and will undergo more after he completes filming on his latest flick. "I'm just propped up right now to do Transformers 2," the actor said. "Then, when I get another surgery, I'll start recovering. Right now, I'm getting through."
