"No matter who wins, I think that the youth needs to understand that we're the ones that are going to inherit the policies of whoever is in office," says Leo about the current presidential race. "We're the ones that are going to be affected for the next 50 years; whatever decisions we make now about the environment, or energy, or the war or the economy, we're the ones who are going to have to adopt whoever's in office's principles. So we need to get out there in a huge force."
In 'Body of Lies,' Leo and Russell play CIA operatives who team up to track an al-Qaeda leader rumored to be planning attacks against America. Leo's character is an ex-journalist-turned-CIA agent who is sent to Amman to work with Jordan's intelligence chief, played by Russell.
"As much as this movie is political, it didn't take a moral or political direction," says Leo. "The centerpiece is this very compelling cat-and-mouse espionage thriller."
Leo and Russell co-starred in 'The Quick and the Dead' together back in 1995 opposite Sharon Stone and Gene Hackman. And the film also reunites Russell with his 'Gladiator' and 'A Good Year' director Ridley Scott, who are still planning on a future collaboration with 'Nottingham,' a revisionist take on the Robin Hood legend.
