The singer, who was diagnosed with Hepatitis C earlier this year, suffered a setback at the end of last month but is "doing much better," her rep says.
We're told that although her condition is improving, she's currently receiving kidney dialysis. However her rep says the dialysis is not related to Hep C, which he says is "under control" now.
"The Insider" recently caught up with Quincy Jones and he commented on fellow music legend Natalie. “We are very concerned about her,” Quincy said.
“She’s not doing well right now,” he went on to say. Quincy said at the time that he might be able to help her if he can get through to her: “We had a doctor we met at a benefit the other night that says he has the new technology that could save her with Hepatitis C, so we’re trying desperately to reach her to get in touch with her because she’s in the hospital as we speak, with the dialysis and everything.”
Quincy told “The Insider” that his relationship with Natalie goes all the way back to her childhood, when he worked with her father, Nat King Cole: “I worked with her father in 1960, [with] my band in Europe and Natalie was seven years old then and she went to school with my daughter. She was a sweetie back then.”
“The Insider” talked to Quincy in Seattle on Friday, where his alma mater, Garfield High School, dedicated the Quincy Jones Performing Arts Center to the music producer.

my name is Darice, and I just wanted to send you some words of encouragement.
I would not consider myself a huge fan of yours, but my Mother loves your music. She
probably played it so much, when I was little, that I grew tired of it. You know how kids
are; parents have their music, kids have their own. I can’t help but notice I do find
myself humming to a few of your songs when they come on my favorite radio station
now and then. I really just wanted to say that I admire and respect your views on Amy
Winehouse. She really does not deserve to get the attention and credit she has due to her
drug problem. She is a really talented girl but she is giving kids nowadays the wrong
idea on how to get famous or noticed in the world today. There are too many young stars
that are following the wrong path that seem to get rewarded for it. It is so sad when there
is young talent out there that live their lives the right way, but yet are overshadowed by
the youth that drink and take drugs and get arrested every other weekend. It seems
backwards to me. When I heard you were not feeling well, my heart dropped. We as
young people need your voice in this mixed up world we live in. You have been down
the wrong path, but you were one of the smart and strong ones that gave up and turned
away from the evils that bring so many down today. I pray that god makes you well so
you can continue to be a light and inspiration to young people all over the world. Please Get Well Soon!
Many Blessings and Much Love and Respect,
Darice Y. Cobb
