Selena Gomez Gives Back To Her Community

Selena Gomez put in an appearance at ‘Target Presents Variety’s Power of Youth’ event held at NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE on Saturday in Los Angeles.

The shindig celebrated the activism of Hollywood’s youth community. The patients and families of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, were the exclusive beneficiary of the event and they were entertained with performances and activities for the whole afternoon.

Selena was asked who her fav role models were:

“First and foremost, my mom. [And Judy Garland.] I grew up watching Wizard of Oz and Somewhere Over the Rainbow was the first song I learned to sing.”

She also talked about her latest project:

“I’m working on my first album for Hollywood Records. It’ll be fun dance music, out next summer, and I’ll be doing a national tour.”

Umm, I remember reading recently that she didn’t want to do an album but would rather be in a band. Guess she changed her mind, and speaking of changing her mind, she was on The View the other day and said she wasn’t dating a Jonas Brother.
