'Gossip Girl' Gives Up Shoes for Good Cause

"The Insider" was there as 'Gossip Girl' Leighton Meester donated the shoes off her feet at the Take a Stand Against Domestic Violence event in New York City's Union Square Park.

Guests at the event were asked to donate a pair of shoes to an artistic shoe tree that will act as a tribute to those affected by domestic violence. The actress told "The Insider" her shoe fetish didn't stop her from donating her black Stuart Weitzman pumps to the cause.

Leighton talks about "Gossip Girl" and how the show relates to real life high school experiences. She also reveals the reactions of girls who attend the actual Nightingale Prep School. She says the girls say the show is similar to their school drama but much more exciting!
