“You’ve got to raise the game, come back to impress,” Bruno Tonioli urged the near-evictees, while Len Goodman assured the masses that Misty and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy would not have been going home, had she been healthy: “Misty had the potential to get all the way through to the final,” Len said.
In a new twist, this week’s scores will be combined with next week’s -- meaning the low-scoring duos will have a tougher mountain to climb when they take the dance floor next Monday.
Aside from Rocco and Karina, one such duo who’ll need to bring their A-game are Cloris Leachman and Corky Ballas, who were declared safe at the top of the results show, despite posting the lowest point total for the third week in a row.
As usual the night's musical guests eased some of the tension in the air. Jennifer Hudson belted out a powerful number that got siblings Julianne and Derek Hough footloose. And the Rockettes wowed with their trademark high-kicks and thousand-watt smiles.
