The Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes tabloid split is just a new house and Katie’s job
Last week Star, ran with the provocative headlines “Caught! Tom uncovers Katie’s plans to leave him” suggesting that Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes had split up and that their marriage was about to end. The story inside the rag revealed that the claims were based on little more than the fact that Katie would soon be filming in Lousiana without Tom, but that he decided to tag along. Everyone had heard this already after The Post reported it, but Star’s headline made it seem like Katie had hatched this plan to ditch Tom when the actual article revealed that wasn’t the case at all.

This week The Enquirer made the dumb decision to place the same non-story on their front page, and I was again dissapointed to see a misleading title with little or no insider information and no real breakup. The story was just an account of the new house Tom was buying after his rented estate was sold along with the fact that he’s getting a place in NY. A new estate with more room spells some kind of TomKat marriage crisis according to The Enquirer.

Ovewhelmed with the demands of her new life, Katie has encouraged Tom to buy three new homes where she can escape.

“Katie is surrounded by Tom’s family and his Scientology minders,” says a friend, “She need to get away on her own.”

This will be the first time during her marriage to Tom that Katie will find alone time by moving out.

And despite Katie’s upcoming move, divorce is not an option.

“Katie’s strict Catholic upbringing and her determination to bring up their daughter Suri with both a mother and a father mean she will stick to her marriage vows,” said the friend.

Life & Style says “Katie Storms Out!” and according to the account on their website Katie ran out of the house after a fight on March 23rd. I haven’t read that article so I can’t comment on whether it has some revelatory news about the cult couples’ relationship. Given the fact that all these stories read like a gossip circle jerk, I doubt it.

I did read Life & Style’s fantastic piece of journalism “Does Katie Want Out?” from their April 9th issue, and they do is analyze pictures to say that her body language shows that she’s in control now. The girl got some self esteem, that doesn’t mean she’s ready to throw away her Barney’s card.
