The festival, which runs from January 22-February 1, 2009, will present the 34-year-old actress with the award after her two powerful performances this summer in 'Elegy' and 'Vicky Cristina Barcelona,' said SBIFF director Roger Durling.
"There are few actresses who can today be described as an international movie goddesses," Durling said.
Other winners of the prestigious award include Angelina Jolie (2008), Helen Mirren (2007), Heath Ledger (2006), Kate Winslet (2005) and Charlize Theron (2004).
