David Duchovny and his wife Tea Leoni revealed Wednesday in a statement to "The Insider" that they've been separated for a while.

 

The statement reads: "In light of continuous speculation over the lives and marriage of Tea Leoni and David Duchovny, the couple has confirmed that they have in fact been separated for several months.

"The couple had hoped to keep this separation private for the sake of their [two] children."

Duchovny and Leoni have been married for eleven years.

Earlier this month, "The Insider" confirmed that the "Californication" star had checked out of a rehabilitation center for sex addiction.
